Dear Sweet Caden
You were born yesterday afternoon and your uncle and I couldn’t be more excited!
I woke up as Aunt Karen texted us yesterday morning at 7 to tell us your mom had started having contractions and your mom texted about an hour later saying they were on their way to the hospital.
I was so excited that I decided to make your Uncle Daniel and I pancakes (with Mini M&Ms!) for breakfast to celebrate before we went to church in honor of you!
I spent all morning frantically checking my phone for updates, imagining whether I was going to have another niece or my first nephew and what you were going to look like. Your Uncle Daniel thought you were going to be a girl, but I knew from the beginning that you were going to be a boy! To his credit, he knew immediately when your mom was pregnant with Brianna, when I was clueless!
Your mom and dad told the family that they were expecting you while we were all together for Christmas. They dressed your big sister in a “Best Sister Ever!” t-shirt and brought us all into your already-decorated Winnie the Pooh nursery and we all ooohed and ahhhed and, being your Aunt Becky, I squealed and jumped up and down in excitement.
Ever since that day, I’ve prayed for you and I’m itching to meet you!
All day, I’ve been dreaming about the things I’d like to do with you someday – play soccer, ride bikes, decorate monster cookies, movie nights, camping in the backyard, catching frogs…okay, I’ll leave the catching frogs to you and Aunt Karen – she loves those squishy guys!
Our family has been very girl-heavy for as long as I can remember and you, little one, balance us out perfectly. I hope you know how loved you are every second of every day, sweet little boy. You have amazing parents, the best grandparents ever, and aunts and an uncle that will always shower you with love every chance we get.
Welcome to the world, precious little lamb. I love you dearly.
XOXOXO,
Aunt Becky
